AutoCAD Draftsman -

Under general supervision, responsible for design documentation on SAFE Boats products and subassemblies. Using engineering drawings and verbal instruction enters data into AutoCAD system and produces documentation drawings per SAFE Boats standards. Modifies or updates existing drawings as changes occur. The ideal candidate will primarily use AutoCAD 2007 software, Microsoft Office software and possibly various other drafting and 3D modeling software to develop drawings that meet engineering specifications. Performs special projects as required.

Proposal Writer

Under limited supervision responsible for supporting Management and subject matter experts during pre-proposal, proposal, execution and post execution phases of government and private contracts. Interfaces closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Finance and Engineering. This team member will develop, write, edit, organize and produce technically accurate original proposal responses. Including, but not limited to: •Reply to government proposal requests in an accurate, clear, concise, and timely manner •Analyze customer requirements and competitive activity to develop offers and bids designed to win •Follow team processes and company set standards ONLY EXPERIENCED WRITERS WITH BACKGROUND IN GOVERNMENT PROPOSALS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

PE Naval Architect, Mechanical Engineer or Marine Engineer

Staff engineer Degree and Certification Required- responsible for full spectrum of engineering analyses pertaining to design and fabrication of aluminum work and patrol boats up to 65ft and larger. Job’s emphasis will be on structural engineering and analyses of aluminum hull structure to ISO, ABS, and other recognized standards and industry best practices. Additional scope of structural engineering includes, but is not limited to, equipment foundations, and towing, lifting and mooring fitting analysis using the most appropriate tools ranging from hand calculations to full FEA modeling and simulation. Additional engineering scope includes, but is not limited to: HVAC calculations; pipe flow and plumbing system design and analysis; hull and system CAD modeling; stability analysis; speed and power prediction; propulsion and power systems sizing and analysis, seakeeping and maneuvering predictions; noise and vibration analysis; electrical system load analysis and design; hydraulic systems engineering and design and analysis of test and sea trial data. The engineer: - Analyzes project specifications to determine engineering scope and feasibility of proposed components or features. - Interfaces with management to ensure proposed product meets customer requirements; including providing drawings, calculations and written documentation to proposal manager to meet proposal submittal requirements. - Designs custom parts for fabrication. - Ensures all engineering documentation including drawings, parts lists, layouts and schematics comply with contract and industry standards. - Works closely with Quality Assurance to develop and document all test procedures. - Coordinates with Manufacturing to ensure cost-efficient production and resolution of manufacturing issues. - Provides input, where required, for compliance with industry and government standards and regulations. - Develops templates, computer models and spreadsheet tools to simplify and standardize design and engineering processes. - Attends technical evaluation meetings and briefing with customers as required. - Attends technical industry meetings, conferences and symposia as required. - Maintains current knowledge of best industry and engineering practices through continuing education. - Mentors junior engineers and designers in engineering theory and processes.
