Royal Bahamas Police Force Accepts Delivery of 41’ SAFE Boats Center Console – Offshore Interceptor Vessels

SAFE Boats International, a manufacturer of high performance, aluminum, patrol and response boats located in Bremerton, Washington, has recently manufactured and delivered two (2) new 41’ Center Console – Offshore  Interceptors for the Royal Bahamas Police Force adding to their growing fleet of SAFE Boats.

The 41’ Center Console - Offshore Interceptor Vessel’s primary mission is counter-narcotics and human trafficking interdiction within the waters of the Bahamas. The vessels were delivered late in December and acquired through a joint effort between the U.S. Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and the Royal Bahamian Police Force.

The proven SAFE Boats International aluminum 41’ Center Console – Offshore design is an integrated, offshore, mission specific vessel which can achieve pursuit speeds well in excess of 50 knots in the most extreme rough  water conditions.  The combination of SAFE Boats Patented Hull and Collar Designs and SHOXS Seats, which are known industry wide for their shock mitigation capabilities, superior engineering and functional design, make this vessel a perfect combination of form and function.  The SHOXS seats are designed to dramatically reduce the   debilitating physical impact of extended, high speed, rough water operations on the crew.  The superior, ergonomic helm seat design has throttle controls integrated to the seat allowing the coxswain and the controls to be in full shock mitigation while operating at high speeds.  The boat is outfitted with a Garmin navigation suite, multiple radios and a FLIR M-Series thermal imaging camera which integrates into three (3) multifunction display screens conveniently located for the entire crew to view and operate in low light conditions.  The vessels are  powered by four (4) Mercury 300hp Verado engines  which have proven to be extremely efficient and reliable  allowing for a range that exceeds 400 nautical miles.

The SAFE 41’ Center Console - Offshore has become the professional boat of choice for offshore drug and migrant interdiction missions in the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America.  SAFE Boats International was the recently awarded a fifty-two (52) boat contract for U.S. Customs and Border Protection named CIV (Coastal Interceptor Vessel) which are currently in production for the first delivery this year.

“The Royal Bahamas Police Force has been a long-time customer and outstanding partner to SAFE and currently have four (4) SAFE 41’ Center Console – Offshore vessels in service.  We have worked very close with the Royal Bahamas Marine Support Services Branch to develop a boat with mission specific equipment that significantly advances their patrol and interdiction capabilities while keeping their crew safe under the most extreme conditions.  The Royal Bahamas Police commonly operate in dangerous conditions and very remote areas.  If not for their extremely professional boat crews and superior equipment they would not be nearly as effective as they are now”, said John Hotz, Director of Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean.  “We and our valuable integration partners - SHOXS Seats, FLIR, Garmin Electronics, Icom, ACR, Mercury Marine, Firstwatch and Boat Master Trailers - are grateful to be selected and entrusted to grow this program by the U.S. Department of State and the Royal Bahamas Police Force”.
